`pan pair`

pan pair [--label <name>] [--url <base>] [--json]

Prints a one-time URL that pairs another device (a laptop, a tablet, a second desktop) with this machine’s dashboard. Released in v0.64.0. The dashboard’s Pair a device dialog is in the next release (v0.65.0). See Remote access and pan devices.

`--label <name>`	Name recorded for the pairing in the activity log.
`--url <base>`	Base URL the other device can reach (default: this dashboard’s API URL).
`--json`	Print `{ url, credential, expiresAt }` as JSON.

The credential works once, expires 10 minutes after it is created, and a dashboard restart invalidates every credential that has not been used yet. When the base is localhost, 127.0.0.1, ::1 or *.localhost, pan pair warns that the URL only works on this machine. With --json the warning goes to stderr; the JSON itself still goes to stdout.

Errors

No running dashboard: `Overdeck dashboard is not running; start it with `pan up`.`, exit 1.
A dashboard that rejects this machine’s internal token (for example a pan serve server, which does not share it): `The dashboard rejected this machine's internal token. `pan pair` needs a dashboard started by `pan up` (a `pan serve` server does not share it).`, exit 1.
