# pan token

> Create, list or revoke scoped API tokens

# `pan token`

<Note>
  Available from the next release (v0.65.0).
</Note>

Create, list or revoke scoped API tokens: bearer tokens limited to named scopes, for a
program such as an event sidecar or a notifier instead of a full device session. See the
scope table at [Remote access](/configuration/remote-access#scoped-api-tokens).

## create

```bash theme={null}
pan token create <name> --scopes <list> [--json]
```

| Flag | Effect |
| - | - |
| `--scopes <list>` | Required. Comma-separated, from `read:events, read:state, read:conversations, tell, operate, admin`. |
| `--json` | Print `{ id, name, scopes, token }` as JSON. |

Prints the id, name, scopes, and the token (`odk_…`) once, followed by:

```
This token is shown once. A running dashboard accepts it within 5 seconds.
```

Works without a running dashboard; it writes the registry directly.

## list

```bash theme={null}
pan token list [--json]
```

Lists access tokens with columns `ID NAME SCOPES CREATED LAST USED REVOKED`. Works without a
running dashboard.

| Flag | Effect |
| - | - |
| `--json` | Print the tokens as JSON. |

With no access tokens: `` `No access tokens. Create one with `pan token create`.` ``

## revoke

```bash theme={null}
pan token revoke <id>
```

Through the dashboard it prints:

```
Revoked access token "<name>" (<id>); closed <n> live connection(s).
```

With no dashboard running it writes the registry and prints:

```
Dashboard not running; revoked in the registry. No live connections were open.
```

An unknown id prints `No access token with id <id>.` and exits 1.
